Jang Sun-woo might be on me of the most interesting directors out of South Korea- it’s such a shame that he seems to be forgotten.

The fact that the films are (in part) created by the subjects themselves provides a further meta analysis to them. Every creative decision then becomes another layer to the film’s perspective.

There’s something so intoxicating about these portrayals of youth alienation, but the parallel films about the old homeless really prove that what we’re watching is a death spiral.
