Hulk vs. Thor stars Fred Tatasciore as Hulk, Matthew Wolf as Thor, Graham McTavish as Loki, Grey DeLisle as Sif, Kari Wahlgren as Amora, and Bryce Johnson as Bruce Banner.
I don’t love this animation style as much as Hulk vs. Wolverine.
While it works for an Asgardian setting, it’s not one I would see myself going back to. The animation did grow on me over time, but I don’t like it more than Hulk vs. Wolverine.
Hulk’s character design, though, is better than Hulk vs. Wolverine. I like the design for his head better.
I liked the story fine. The most interesting plot point was everything surrounding Loki operating the minds of Bruce and the Hulk. I wish they had explored more of that. Everything surrounding Thor was fine, but it wasn’t my favourite part.
It’s weird because both the Wolverine and Thor movies have Hulk’s name front and centre, but the story and world explored the “secondary” character. I just find that a unique detail, as it feels like they only put Hulk first because of his popularity.
Like the first film, the story is for kids and is just an excuse for the action. But at least the first story felt more interesting than this, partly thanks to its memorable side characters.
However, this gets some points by feeling like an actual ending.
Which is why I’m giving Hulk vs. Thor a 3/5. It’s grand, but I prefer Hulk vs. Wolverine.
