I’m not very into documentaries or stuff like this, but I really enjoyed this. it was super artsy but not in a way that was boring, and it told the story of the family so well. you really get invested in the story and I genuinely felt emotional (which is rare for me) during most of it. the only reason it’s not 5 stars is because I’m not that into docs but I would so recommend

Wow. What an incredible, elegant piece of documentary filmmaking. It follows a narrative of Lawand, a young mostly deaf immigrant, but it’s remarkable in its ability to tell the story that flows naturally while integrating verbal soundbites, flashback, and other non-linear elements of story.
The score and sound design are both amazing. The characters are incredibly compelling. It had me gripped and invested from early on and did not let go. Just a fantastic achievement in documentary filmmaking.

It’s just brilliant what can I say. The pacing, the shots, the music, the story is all perfect. I don’t really understand documentaries that much but this showed me the power of it. The power that it could influence change.
