Wow. What an incredible, elegant piece of documentary filmmaking. It follows a narrative of Lawand, a young mostly deaf immigrant, but it’s remarkable in its ability to tell the story that flows naturally while integrating verbal soundbites, flashback, and other non-linear elements of story.
The score and sound design are both amazing. The characters are incredibly compelling. It had me gripped and invested from early on and did not let go. Just a fantastic achievement in documentary filmmaking.
