I will say it’s one of the better all around feel good movies of the 2010s. I see this one as wildly underrated. It’s funny, still has great characters that get reimagined plus a great new villain with rumpelstiltskin. He might be the second best villain in the shrek series behind lord Farquaad. Yeah I’m saying he’s better than charming and the fairy godmother, fight me. The only thing I would say isn’t the greatest is the whole army of ogres, it’s a bit funky but still has some great parts. It doesn’t really fit the whole shrek movie style with the whole resistance thing. There were definitely some other ways they could’ve gone around without it the war thing but whatever, it’s a kids movie. I also felt like this movie leaned more into the embarrassing side of the humor with the whole true loves kiss thing and I’m not a huge fan of that. I’m digging too deep into it, also they didn’t need to do Rumpels goose like that, super fucked up. Love the shrek movies, will definitely watch again when I rewatch the Shrek Saga.
