A cargo aircraft crashes in a sandstorm in the Sahara with less than a dozen men on board. One of the passengers is an airplane designer who comes up with the idea of ripping off the undamaged wing and using it as the basis for a replacement aircraft they need to build before their food and water run out.

The Flight of the Phoenix
I’m a sucker for Jimmy Stewart and this feels like the angriest role he’s played and he does so with a lot of conviction. It’s a good set up and strong production design but almost feels closer to a stage play that a film. I feel like it impacted Carpenter’s The Thing a decent amount but that’s my opinion. Good movie but feels like a run of the mill 60’s era epic adventure to me.

Great performances from everyone. I loved it. I didn't know Dan Duryea was going to be in this and it was such a treat he was my favorite. Very underrated film. Another thing I loved is the makeup used they look so crusty.

Would’ve enjoyed it so much better if my dad hadn’t gone all crazy and forced me to watch the movie

I always love a good survival story, and this is a great one. Certainly takes it's time, but with this cast who cares? There's a reveal in the third act that caught me so off-guard and made me laugh so hard, truly elevated the whole movie for me. Just a gem.
