A good movie. Stunning and amazing cinematography! The setting felt very realistic. The film did a great job showing the struggles and difficulties of survival — not just having to ration food and water, but even the way the film made it more genuine and realistic, where everyone had a dirty face and serious scars because of lack of hygiene. And then the character contrast between Towns and Heinrich Dorfmann is amazing. The old-fashioned pilot with the ideas of the past, and the new way of doing things, with new methods and a more individualistic approach. For example, when Heinrich took more water for himself than he was supposed to. Also, the ending of the film was beautiful — the worried faces, hoping that their hard work of building something for their potential deliverance would not go to waste, and then their jubilant, joyful faces and actions once they realize their plane could actually fly, was such a beautiful scene. But the film did feel slow and at times dragged a bit, and I also wish we saw more from some of the minor characters. In my opinion, I think that would've added a lot to the film. Overall, I would say it was a really good movie, and I would definitely recommend watching it.

I’m a sucker for Jimmy Stewart and this feels like the angriest role he’s played and he does so with a lot of conviction. It’s a good set up and strong production design but almost feels closer to a stage play that a film. I feel like it impacted Carpenter’s The Thing a decent amount but that’s my opinion. Good movie but feels like a run of the mill 60’s era epic adventure to me.

Great performances from everyone. I loved it. I didn't know Dan Duryea was going to be in this and it was such a treat he was my favorite. Very underrated film. Another thing I loved is the makeup used they look so crusty.
