Porky’s is one of those movies that shows how much the 80s got away with. I first saw it at 10, way too young to get it, but what stuck with me was the nudity and the ridiculousness of it all. Rewatching now, the racism is glaring and ugly, but back then it was just hyped as a raunchy teen comedy. No way it’d be made today and honestly that’s good. I’m lowering it a half star this time. It’s very nostalgic for me as a Gen X. These actors looked 25-30 playing teenagers. I looked up and a few of these actors have passed away. :(
But I’ll admit it, Mrs. Balbricker was my queen when I was a kid.
