Sans Rien Savoir D’Elle is not usually my type of film: its “murder mystery” is a little too connected to the insurance plot for my taste, if that makes sense, and it’s got many old-Italian-detective-movie clichés, but the sheer insanity of the main characters kind of won me over. There’s a very weird love story lurking beneath this thriller, and Paola Pitagora completely owns the screen as Cinzia Mancuso. Philippe Leroy is great as Nanni Brà too and it’s interesting how he gets consumed by her craziness. A particular scene right after the beginning of their romance (?) and the ending had me in shock, and that’s the best possible reaction to a suspense. Also I got to watch this movie in a screening presented by Leroy’s daughter, the marvelous Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, so it was a quite the experience.
