Alaya F and newcomer Karan Mehta gave servicable performances in the film and shared decent on-screen chemistry together (equally in both stories). I could also understand the perspective this film was trying to convey; in which, not all great Indian love stories modern or age-old (as interfaith romances) have happy endings. The mindfuck ending where each protaganist of the two separate stories cross path was great.
The crux of why this film essentially flopped is perhaps because it pointlessly preaches about love through dialogue (especially with Vicky Kaushal’s DJ character) — rather than emoting feelings of romance to the audience, we’re watching it being discussed as if it were book club.
