Piccolo Grande Cinema Film Festival #1
Even though it slows down quite a bit in some moments, it still manages to be entertaining, but some dialogues feel a bit unnatural. The characters aren't fully developed and don't seem to have any real arc, while others are completely forgotten. The idea, however, is very original. The directing style is functional, but there are some issues with the choice of black-and-white: it often looks more like black-and-grey due to the low contrast.
The actors (some more than others) did a good job portraying their characters, and the main ones share a strong chemistry. The music helps set the mood of the scenes, and the sound design feels realistic.
The film explores classic themes such as "not everything is what it seems," as well as others like the fear of speaking and father–son dynamics.
As a debut work, it functions well.
