Star Trek: Picard - The IMAX Live Series Finale Event

This couldn’t have had a better ending in my opinion. Season 3 has been utterly fantastic and it was everything I think a fan of not only TNG but also DS9 and VOY could have ever asked for. 

Season 1 had some certainly (let’s call them) interesting creative choices that from a fan’s perspective sucked and whilst season 2 was an improvement, it sadly wasted its best characters, ultimately the first two seasons lacked something and that was the constant presence of the TNG cast. I think episode 7? Is my favourite of season one because of Riker and Troi, there’s some magic there and that’s what season 3 does so well, the magic of TNG is back. Of course there’s also the addition of some added 25th century CGI to boot, seeing [redacted] fly like that was so friggin cool. There’s a really simple moment between LaForge and (Spoiler) where they are walking down the hall of a starship and it felt like something from an episode of TNG and that meant more to me than any of the previous two seasons. 

Season 3 really tapped into the potential that this show had and made something truly special for the fans to cherish forever.

When I use to work at a movie theater there would be screenings for religious movies like God’s Not Dead. These showings would be packed. The audience was always enthusiastic. You could hear them cheering in the auditorium from the hallways. Then they would stay a long time afterwards talking to one another. Seeing the final of Picard was a lot like those screenings. Except, the religion was Star Trek this time.
