My template to rate Cena matches since the goat is retiring, with that said I’ll be back tomorrow probably shedding some tears with absolutely no shame at all y’all just have to understand. Let’s talk about Cenas match catalogue
Cena vs Gunther SNME 12/13/25: Retirement Match
5 stars. The perfect way for Cena to go out imo, obviously people are gonna be emotional but this is what wrestling is supposed to be about. A true pioneer and someone who can never be replaced or replicated who preached never giving up gave out. From Gunther dominating the first quarter of the match to us seeing Super Cena one last time was what anyone could ask for. Gunther is now the biggest heel in the WWE and that’s what can keep fans interested going forward knowing that the guy who has carried the company on his back for 20 years, something no one else has done officially will not wrestle ever again. Now we’ll wonder and wait to see who the next big player really is, who can try to fill the shoes of the greatest WWE superstar.
Cena Vs Bryan Danielson Summerslam 2013: WWE Championship
5 stars (excluding the cash in)
The exact moment I would’ve actually passed the torch instead of trying to slow down a superstars momentum. Cena and Bryan went to war and in this moment Bryan was the babyface it was no longer Cena giving into that superhero like performance, too bad we had to sit through the yes movement which was cool but also very unnecessary it still has its effects on the WWE to this day
Cena Vs Orlando Jordan Smackdown 3/3/05: United States Championship
3 stars
A desperate Orlando Jordan trying to stay on the JBL payroll vs a John Cena who is ready to take that next step into the main event picture. Definitely my favorite time period of smackdown was during the early-mid 2000s, alot of superstars were made and definitely had the better tv matches for the most part.
