This was clearly about family. The support and comfort of family.
This film was about a father and his three sons trying to find each other again after losing the glue that held their family together, the mother.
This was a sad, but more importantly, wholesome film, that starred the brothers, Sebastian and Andreas Jessen. It was fun to see two, real life brothers, playing brothers in a film.
There was a third brother, Oskar (Ari Alexander), and i really felt for his character, he was shy and misunderstood, i got the feeling that Oskar took the death of their mother the hardest and had trouble finding his place in the world afterwards. I felt his sadness and loneliness.
I loved this quote
“What did you call my ass?”
“Fat”
That was a funny bit.
This film touched on the topics of grief, denial and family love.
I often forget to appreciate danish films which is why it’s taken me so long to watch this, but i thoroughly enjoyed this. Loved it, actually.
