Aku ingin mencintaimu tanpa ditakut-takuti neraka atau diiming-imingi surga It started off pretty good, But as time went by, idk, i frowned more and more often. I really wanted to like this, really.
The changes Kiran takes seem rushed, extreme, and flawed in logic. What she's going through, how she handles things, and what she's feeling are described and potrayed too simplistically, It's really just about how cinema explores its characters. I don't know how, but I don't think this movie gives us enough to empathize with Kiran. Therefore, many people don't like Kiran's character
I also think it's a very black-and-white spiritual depiction, probably still influenced by subjectivity and bias. What I mean is that it depicts the organization Kiran joins as very extremist and "evil" by how they threaten and commit violence toward Kiran. And other people are portrayed as very hypocritical and evil, which makes Kiran immediately very liberal. It tries so hard to justify Kiran's change of beliefs, but also it feels like it's trying to say, 'You can only be disappointed when it's this bad.'
Also, most people, especially in Indonesia undergo a grey spiritual process not directly black and white like what is potrayed here.
