1. R. Balki
This was a pointless short where Neena Gupta is a cool granny that encourages pre-marital sex. There is no storytelling with a dead screenplay.
The performance by Mrunal Thakur was abysmal. Poor dialogues paired with constant and annoying giggling made it a difficult watch to say the least. In fact, I stopped after 15 minutes and had to force myself to finish it the next day.
Neena Gupta acted decent, but nothing could save this disaster. 0.5/5
2. Konkona Sen Sharma
KSS hits it out of the park. The cinematography, tint, and symmetry felt very Wes Anderson-esque and it was executed brilliantly. The dialogues were crisp.
The acting was phenomenal- Tillotama Shome does it again with natural acting all-round. She made silent scenes super funny and engaging with her expressions and sometimes her expressionless face. Amruta Subhash was lovely as well and her chemistry with Tillotama was fun to watch.
The pacing was perfect. The confrontation scene between Tillotama's and Amruta's character is one of the best acting and execution of a scene I have seen. 4/5
3. Sujoy Ghosh
This piece gives R. Balki competition for the worst of the lot. Dirty CGI throughout the film (Just shoot in normal outdoor lighting during the day. Why the fake sky?), bad acting, nothing about lust, and a very weird ending (and then I woke up- 7th grade essay vibes). I was very disappointed by Vijay Varma and Tamanna Bhatia. Nothing much to say about this one. 0.5/5
4. Amit Ravindernath Sharma
This had a story, good acting, and a decent screenplay. With sexual violence being the crux of this film, it shows how a wife (Kajol), who was an ex sex worker, is abused by her husband (Kumud Mishra) on a daily. The story shows how Kajol's character eventually plots her revenge against her husband. It was a decent watch with a decent plot twist. 3/5
