The evolution of cinema 18/100year 1899: 2/4
THIS IS HISTORICAL!!!!
How the hell did we go from 1 minute short films about well, pretty much nothing to a multiple part serial that’s a grand total of 10 minutes so abruptly ?!!! I mean It’s not a surprise that Georges Melies was far ahead of Its time but this truly tops everything! Possibly not only the first film that uses narration, but also the first, and also one of the most controversial films ever made– with the film being banned at the time of its release because of its political message and themes.
Now that’s hard to understand so many years later, because looking back at It, It was quite hard to grasp what exactly was going on– but that doesn’t mean I didn’t absolutely love It! There were so many cool, epic scenes– and eventough you couldn’t quite grasp what was going on– you could definitely sense something monumental and game-changing was going on.
Such a cool short !
