Forgiveness is more than just forgiving yourself, but what Pilgrimmage does well is show how long it can take. Mrs. Jessop took 10 years and a journey to see her son one last time for forgiveness. Her selfishness cost a man his life, but just because that life is gone doesn't mean a new one can't start and that starts with Her Grandson Jimmy Jessop. Absolutely heartwarming ending.
