With an incredible filmography and cinematography placed thoughtfully on every frame, this film, watched in Mar Del Plata film festival goes beyond in scriptwriting, storytelling and constant double meaning in everything that's written.
For that sake, shots are WAY beyond what I though a film in this circumstances would have, with tons of wide shots, clever framing and different types of angles that provide certain perspectives that otherwise wouldn't have been written and shown.
Colour wise one would think that the story can be vague, opaque but it has a very deep double meaning between the "black humour" that's present in the current society and how it's not taken lightly because of the current wave of feminism and how it gets annoyed by everything.
With no censor or whatsoever, the depiction of the immigrants in this context of life away from home, being forced to do stuff that wasn't what we intended on the first place and the threads of politics in between love, comedy and a well versed script.
It all ends with a vague ending, purposefully explained though and thought, which makes it funny. It was a very enjoyable film that took every shot and panning to a point beyond, even with subjects that some people in the audience could be admired at and shocked, like that of the Chinese guy being in the corner of the frame constantly.
In the light of the above, as the #1 watch in the Mar del Plata Film Festival 2023 I felt like this film was entertaining, it stands as a strong container for pursuing the Latin international prize in this edition. With humour, amazing and stunning filmography and a script that stands to it's heights, it ends up in a flamboyant film that stands to the test of time as rewatchable.
PD: as an Argentinian myself very funny how the "porteño" figure is well portrayed, couldn't stop longing for Juan Minujin and his daughter in the film to blatantly insult in the frame.
