On the whimsy-producing scale, this is above The Godfather Part 2 but below The Godfather. 

Is this a good film? Not at all. That said, Maid Droid unironically possesses a clear understanding of how its genre workings augment the themes it’s exploring. Essentially a story about rebound relationships, the decision to make the narrative’s victim a droid recognizes the cognitive dissonance and dehumanization required within this dynamic. It ain’t anything brilliant, but this silly sleaze fest did not need to… say anything. 

Misandry’s hot, and the joint got me giggling. That’s enough.

Edit: Nobody's keeping track of my shit, but I wanted to clarify that I do prefer Audition over this, even if I didn't give it my 5 star endorsement. It's just that 1. giving this 5 stars is objectively the funniest option and 2. my scale is an expression of my emotions. A more than serviceable film that I had a few problems with is gonna provoke less of an intense emotional reaction than me finding joy in fucking Maid Droid. Ts filled my heart with whimsy. What can I say?

I'm not sure what I was expecting going into a movie called 'Maid Droid' but it certainly wasn't dramatic shower scenes of a man who looks like Cenk Uygur crying while a piece of music that sounds eerily like 'Time' by Hans Zimmer played over the top of it.

The movie follows Harrison, a man struggling to get over his ex, who decides to contact a maid droid agency. The agency sends out a robot that Harrison decides to call Mako, and very quickly he gets some of that robussy. But it's not long before things start going wrong and Mako has flashbacks of being mistreated by other clients in the past, which in turn triggers her to become a killer.

I don't think anyone will be surprised to hear that this movie is dreadful, and it's one that the more you think about it, the worse it actually becomes. Still, I did have a few laughs, though I'm not sure I was supposed to be laughing. As bad as the movie was, especially some of the acting, I must confess that I was glued to the screen the entire time. I do not blame Mako for anything she did.
