Yeah I watch the real movies. The movies with Eric Roberts where he doesn’t even know what he’s doing. We love Eric Roberts in this household.
In all seriousness…
This may be the worst film I’ve ever seen
I would off myself if I made a movie like this. It’s just so badly made. What do I judge this as… a student film that I can rent on Amazon for £3.49. (Sorry Mum)
I’ll list just things that give me second hand embarrassment:
The opening credits aren’t outlined properly so they just disappear into the bright highlights of the shot.
The hiss on some lines, and the excessive Jodie reduction on others. The bits where the dialogue is poorly mixed. Sometimes the track would just cut off.
Sometimes the dialogue comes from another person’s mic.
Any time a stock music track played.
The “TEXT Notification” graphic.
Any time the camera shook slightly because it wasn’t stabilised properly.
Any time “Nathaniel” said a line.
When the dialogue didn’t sync up with the mouth movements.
Anytime a sound effect started peaking.
Anytime the characters went out of frame.
When I noticed the dead pixel.
When there was brief ghost frame of a black screen between scenes.
When they gave a close up of the mother showing her poorly applied makeup. Her acting left a lot to be desired aswell.
When the dialogue was so badly recorded the subtitles just read “(Indistinct)”
When they stock blood graphic when someone got shot.
When they used a stock gun shooting graphic that wasn’t even applied properly, because it persists onto the next shot where there’s no gun for it to emit from.
When you could see the camera crew in the reflection of the car boot at the end.
The end credits where the music track probably has excessive noise reduction applied so it sounds horrible. You could barely hear the last scene in general.
There’s also a scene, where the couple have sex that crossfades between shots in slightly different aspect ratios (2:35:1 and 2:39:1) followed by a stock shot in 16:9. Couldn’t even crop everything to a standard aspect ratio?.
I appreciate someone wanted to make a point about racism in society with this. It’s just execution is everything in a movie. And this fails at just about every production level.
I still don’t know why there was two Eric Roberts. I just pretended this was apart of the Stalked By My Doctor franchise and one was Laid Back Beck.
