I love that Peter Sellers just invented his own accent for this character. It’s not really French but it’s not really English, it’s just Closeau. What a legend.

Blake Edwards: Hey, I need someone to animate the title sequence of my mediocre comedy sequel. And it needs to be blowing everything Disney is doing currently out of the water. Like, make their entire animation division look bad in 5 minutes. The rest of my movie won’t be that memorable, but people will think fondly of the title sequence so much, that it will spawn its own animated series.
There are some really fun parts of this movie. It’s evident that Edwards has learned what worked in past installments in the series and what didn’t. Still, with all of the ingredients in the pot, this still doesn’t hold a match up to Shot in The Dark.
