[2024 Oscar Nominated Documentary Short Films]
When I finished this, I was asking myself why this was even nominated for an Oscar. At first I thought, maybe there was only 5 documentary short films and so it was nominated by default. But then it hit me, the ONLY reason why this is nominated is because it pushes the liberal agenda. I don’t like to be political, but when a short film is political, I think it’s safe to take it and review it politically.
They forget to realize that most of these banned books are because they just aren’t suitable for children. The line “You raise your child either racist or antiracist- there’s no neutrality” is just insane to me. If I become a parent and see my child reading this, I would be disappointed. Not in my child, but the fact that the schools would be letting my child read it. Them really believing that graphically showing police brutality is what kids need to see. And the one that really stirs the pot and is just my opinion, they really want to push LGBTQ onto our children and it’s ludicrous. My child does not need to be worrying about their sexual identity when they can’t even dress themselves. And them bringing in children (who are very clearly being told what to say) to speak out against this situation is disgusting and are only here to make us feel sorry that their nonsense isn’t being spread to our young generation. It’s just sad.
I wanted to put this in its own paragraph because it needs to be addressed. It infuriates me that they get mad when we speak out against them wanting to push LGBTQ onto our kids but when it comes down to us bringing our kids to church, it’s a problem. Yes, maybe we’re both hypocritical, but teach your kid whatever you want and we’ll teach our kid our way. Don’t try to force it onto others, it’s rude and disrespectful towards the people who are raising the child.
Lastly, this documentary is so disorganized and lazy. The effort put into this really just fits the narrative they are trying to push.
