On the outskirts of a village by the sea, lives a Fisherwoman; smelly, single and perpetually ridiculed. One day, fed up with her stuffy, small-minded neighbours, she commissions herself a husband to be made from wicker. In an otherwise conservative town, this unconventional romance sparks outrage, jealousy and chaos.

Sundance movie #11! 🩷

This is really great. What a whimsical, touching and hilarious film. Peter Dinklage, Olivia Coleman, Skarsgaard… all just perfection.

Elizabeth Debicki gives the standout performance imo, but the entire main cast shows out. A wild, comedic fairytale with real heart. The set and costume design are really well done. Unique, original concept that fully commits to its world. It’s strange in the best way

Sundance 2026 #16

A feminist comedic fable that fully commits to the bit. Fischer and Wilson keep the tone on the lighter side of social satire. Leaning so heavily into established archetypes leads to well-trodden character arcs, but the journey there is playful enough.
