It seems as if Abel Ferrara is a much more passionate documentartist than he is a good one. It is clear that he has a love for this hotel and all it symbolizes in terms of Old New York as opposed to gentrified New York. And while I at times could see Ferraras interest in this subject the documentary was quite messy and didn't seem like it really know what it wanted to be. Had I not shared some interest in the subject matter, this would probably have been a slog to get through
