I can’t tell if it was a good documentary but certainly enlightening to Luther’s ubiquity and personhood

Luther was one of those artists that I have always kind of been aware of but was never a massive part of my life. That was until watching this and actually realising how huge and important he has been to the music industry and realising he is so much more fundamental to the music industry as a whole than I ever expected.

He seemed like such a kind soul with a burning passion and and insanely recognisable voice.

hearing the unforgettable opening to luther vandross’s ‘never too much’ on saturday morning always meant that it was time to clean. and while it was very annoying for me to hear his smooth, sweet voice every weekend growing up, I always found myself jamming to it eventually. it’s obvious that luther was very special and an extraordinary talent. I mean the amount of stars he worked with before becoming a star himself is insane! and for him to have written one of the best tracks for one of the greatest musicals of all time aka the wiz genuinely shocked me because i had no clue and now I can so hear his influence in the music.

this was a very respectful documentary that was easy to watch. it’s filled with people who genuinely love luther to this day and hearing them share their stories was something special. r.i.p luther vandross and thank you for your unforgettable contribution the music industry.

This man hit every side quest known to mankind BEFORE his solo career. Insane. 

Very beautiful to see how emotional everyone is about him to this day. Very fun and great sounding doc until it hits you with the feels.
