I don’t understand why Netflix chose to tell this story by interviewing all of the abusers and allow them to tell the story. I spent an hour and a half listening to child abusers and negligent parents trying to convince others as well as themselves that what happened was not an evil thing or wasn’t their fault.

I’m a big true crime documentary guy, but this was just gross and a total fumble from Netflix. You can’t tell this story from the abusers POV. You just can’t. 

I don’t give horribly low scores, but this one deserves it.

I think this was very terribly directed and showed very little sympathy to the survivors of this disgusting industry. also why the fuck are we hearing from his family so much? they defended him and the daughter even said it was ridiculous how they were blaming him for one of the camps. he literally was the founder of 3 fucking camps that for one lead to a 16 year olds death, got so much people assaulted sexually and physically, and traumatized people for life. like wtf do you mean he’s a good person? 

we need to close these camps for good, its been well over 30 years, 100+ deaths, and still nothing has changed. fuck the troubled teen industry.
