Oh this was soooo gaggy!
Feels more slasher-adjacent rather than a straight up slasher but i still loved it.
The rapid fire dialogue was so soothing and witty and feels like the average Cary Grant film. Because of that, the entire first half feels like a screwball comedy, which makes the horror section hit harder cos it starts so abruptly and never lets up with only a few moments of comedy.
I love the suburban fall aesthetic of the film and it makes the slasher and giallo elements work really well.
The kills are really good, but you know what would have made this film better? One long ass chase scene between Arthur and the killer. We only got like 2 really short chases that don't last up to 5 seconds. But nevermind that. I still enjoyed all that we got.
The way the story unfolds is so good and I love that one of Arthur's lines - "don't take people at face value" - foreshadows the killer reveal which, by the way, had me shooketh!
The performances are great, line delivery is great and this is a very underrated film and a great early 90s horror.
