As with the one other Tamakichi Anaru film I've seen the most interesting thing is how blasé & detached snuff film crew is. Something that resolves a little more for me here as they seem to lack even the cynicism to more spectacularly stage their subjects.

The spartan production and performances in the first two sequence accumulate various verisimilitudinous details familiar enough to me from my own depressive episodes to have a power.

A bleak examination into the act of suicide. Surprisingly, this movie manages to be boring for the first 30 mins or so, however I believe this is to make us immersed into this small and claustrophobic world Anaru has created, and we only escape this after the characters have taken their own lives, similarly how to them it is an “escape” of their issues in life. Not exactly a great movie on a filmmaking standpoint, however the gore effects are pretty good and it is interesting overall. Recommended to fans of bleak & experimental horror!
