Following the death of his father, Jay Gardiner goes diving off the central Coast of California in search of his remains, but is swallowed by a massive sperm whale. Just so ridiculous but I had a good time with this.
A bit cheesy at times but it’s got to be with the premise of Austin Abrams being stuck inside of a sperm whale.
You put any other actor in this instead of him it probably doesn’t work as well his mannerisms and just the weird noises he makes is just perfect for this.

Omg, this was such a great movie. That ending really got to me, bruh. As soon as bro opened that mf at the end, I just started crying. I wasn’t expecting this movie to take me through that many emotions, but when I say I felt EVERYTHING Jay was feeling, I mean that shit. Austin Abrams did an amazing job bringing this character to life. The visuals in this film were amazing, and the sound design deserves just as much praise. When Jay is inside the whale, you genuinely feel like you’re in there with him. The atmosphere, the sounds, and the tension make everything feel so immersive. I also love how we continue to experience what he’s hearing, even when he can’t see what’s happening around him. It makes you feel connected to his experience in a way that’s hard to explain.

surprised how they made a 2 hour movie out of a guy stuck in a whale. the whole movie is obviously visually impressive but they somehow managed to keep the pace up for the entire movie. i loved the flashbacks to the scenes with his father, and none of them felt out of place. i actually love Austin Abram’s acting for movies like this - i am also the type of person to talk to myself and make dumb jokes whilst being eaten alive. you’re definitely getting what you’re paying for, but unfortunately there’s not much else they could’ve possibly done with this plot.
