This is kind of Miike’s “The Holy Mountain.” A beautiful and disturbing mess, with meta elements and a strange surrealistic story, I love how most of the movie is structured without like any space between scenes, the camera will turn and you’re in a new place with new people and it’s disorienting and kind of awesome. Another Miike movie that could be a 5 after a rewatch.
I do have one problem, and it’s that some of the dialogue is dumb and it’s like trying to tell you something that you can figure out for yourself. Characters will randomly say things that are super random in the context of the movie to kind of explain the themes.
Great movie tho, Miike is my favorite director at this point and each movie I see just makes it more and more clear.
