This movie is blatant Chinese propaganda. Understandably the pre existing government during the civil war was terrible, but a 30-40 minute battle about the last fight for communist independence bloated the entire fucking movie. ON TOP OF THAT THEY HAD A HUGE CELEBRATION FOR MAO ZE DONG AT THE END OF THE MOVIE?!?!
Characters die left and right, what’s surprising about this movie is that kids can actually get shot and killed. I’ll commend the movie for being ballsy, bc I don’t think I’ve seen a child die (live) in a movie yet. This movie sucked ass and I’m happy my buddy had Vodka and Sangria to pass me through this snooze fest
Lastly, some of the people in the audience were crying at some of the ‘sad’ moments in the movie... bruh a kid was killed in 8 mins after his introduction, and he barely even spoke... also for some reason ppl listen to the kids in this movie and don’t talk over them... in a war zone. Gtfo
