Watched this during history class instead of paying attention– but this is cinematic history so fair enough? Overall a really solid short film. I was especially keen on the way this film build-up suspense. It took nearly ten minutes to get to the actual robbery so you’re left waiting in suspense. And it was kinda crazy that it was actually (kinda) suspenseful– considering I only paid half attention to it and watched it without sound. Besides impressively building-up suspense this film lacked other great qualities. Sure, the cinematography was brilliant and it was actually quite funny– however the build-up was just poorly executed besides building up suspense. It just didn’t make much sense and the plot didn’t get properly executed. After the climax finally arrived after those 10 minutes of suspense– it was disappointing. I would’ve expected something is the great train robbery style, but it were just 2 amateurs– taking away this films element that originally made me wanna watch it. That did cause some funny moments– but I would’ve preferred a more epic robbery.
