Maalik is one of those movies where I really don’t have much to say because it could’ve been so much better if the script had more depth and the moments that were supposed to give you goosebumps actually worked but instead it just felt super empty like the action scenes had no weight to them and didn’t make me feel a single thing and the emotional stuff didn’t land either it just kind of passed by with no impact and even the brutal violent parts felt pointless like yeah it was graphic but it didn’t hit me at all and by the time the ending came around I still felt nothing but one thing I’ll say is Rajkummar Rao definitely proved he can do roles like this he just needs a stronger script next time because this could’ve easily been on the level of something like Raees or KGF but instead it ended up being flat and forgettable.
