OMG this movie gave me so much hope in people. The Neighbors might not hit all the right notes at the right time, but all the characters are engrossing and the audience is given ample time to get to know them in differing levels. The scene where the stepmother ultimately acknowledged and welcomed her daughter home was incredibly touching, I actually couldn't stop crying while watching it. At times, the movie deals with weighty and sentimental matter but there is a coating of dark humour that is perpetually present, it almost has a Papushado/Keshales feel to it.
