“Tell me are you really that righteous.”
The fetishization of tragedy in the modern era. Whether for money and traction or attention and fame. It’s corrupt. Never finding the real story but rather prioritizing being first for sake of all of the above. Failing to really connect and think of the human on the other side of the screen. Easier to fix later on down the road in mind instead of thinking of the toll of controversy that’s opposable through a screen. Stirring the mob for the sake of doing so, for saying you could do so. Profiting off of evil. Off of tragedy. The moral wrong of that, the ridiculousness and only in this era of it all. We are new to this and act like we know it all, the only humans ever to have this tool as a weapon or aid. Yet seems to be more beneficial as a weapon. The duty of the news to be honest, what it looks like when they don’t. The reality of hurting someone else with no thought before hand. The great shot of the crowd uprising at her. Throwing trash at her, she has lost public opinion, the mob wants her now. Blood down her face and eyes all bloody, her sins have consumed her, she must wear them now. While being a great drama and crime thriller this human to human loss of empathy is the bulk of the load here. As it should be. The story spirals and spirals until that little girls face come on the video and all you can do is weep. The cost of the sins, the loss of focus we’ve had as society. We shall not be tragedy vultures, life is hard enough is it not. Would rather us hold close to us our little girls and everyone in between who we are close with. Because the reality of that body hitting the pavement, caving to the world seemingly turning its back upon her, unbearable. I’m consolable thinking about being responsible for a loss of sanity like that. I shall not be. Luckily the pad was there. May her life be blessed and yours. Love.
“Let’s cherish and love our lives.”
