I’ve seen this set dozens upon dozens of times in my life. But this time it’s extra special cause it’s the first time I’ve seen it since riding the cable cars. My girlfriend took me on the cable cars for my birthday and the entire time I was just quoting the first 10 minutes of the special in my head.

She will always be my favorite comedian and one of the funniest most genius people I’ve ever seen. This set was the first one of hers I ever saw and deserves to be in the pantheon of all time Great comedy specials.

Suzy Eddie Izzard is the only person who can recount European history for an hour, or describe the movie Speed in French, or alternate between shaking and nodding her head silently for five minutes and not only keep my attention but have me in stitches.

This is one of the all time classic stand up specials and for good reason. Sure, some of the queer terminology is a little dated by todays standards, but it’s still so fucking ahead of it’s time. She is in total control of her audience, as evidenced by the “Englebert Humperdinck is dead” section, and it’s so much fun watching her handle the audience with such ease.  This also has some of the funniest bits in French, which are so funny even if you don’t understand a lick of the language. It’s a really impressive set even to this day.
