I’ll be honest. I haven’t kept up too much with The Chosen after season 1. But the Passover week leading to the cross is something I’ve always wanted to see visualized.
If you plan to watch this PLEASE do so in theaters. The trailers before included a Bible project video and some other Bible movies and shows coming out soon. When a world lacking of Jesus it’s refreshing to see Christ depicted on the big screen.
These first two episodes were great. I’ve always wondered specifically what Jesus’ whip of cords looked like and His flipping of tables. It also really puts the disciples confusion and fear into perspective. Which is really what I love about The Chosen. It’s a great portrayal of Jesus, even if it has creative liberties weeded in. But really it helps me understand what it looked like in the present. We get so caught up in the connections of the Old Testament and New Testament and knowing the full Biblical story that we forget what it must’ve been like to be there. Those connections and understandings are more than great to have. But it does us good to make ourselves a part of the story. Because we are! We are waiting for our Messiah to return. I just pray that when He does we all chant and sing “Hosanna, Son of David” rather than denying Him again. I’ll stop preaching now…
Go see this! Fill the theaters! Live like Jesus!
