Mr Adam Volerich was one of the first professors I ever had in Film School, specifically for a class about working hands on with the gear. But not sure if it was just his classy fashion taste or fancy British accent, but I looked up to this guy and went to see his latest short at the time with my freshman roommate in Cranford New Jersey. He was a great teacher and an interesting filmmaker that from then I decided I would love to follow his career and see what he made next. Years later, I'm about the age he was when he made that short and was a professor and I just saw his feature directing debut in the same theatre I saw fuckin Superman and Jurassic World. Its cool shit.
Best part is, the film rules too. Theres such a picturesque quality to the film that captures the stillness of it all, the exact melancholic feeling of the holidays when you're just trying to figure shit out. The actors all give very endearing performances and the circularness of these characters' lives feels so familiar. Chilly and warm all at once. Super happy to have gotten to see it on the big screen tonight! Take the chance to check it out whenever it gets near you!
Also that guy Shorty rules. I don't know how they found that guy but he was awesome.
