Tries to say something about gender dysphoria and escapism, but it feels like it goes nowhere because it ends way too soon after only a few scenes. The fake anime opening was cool to see and felt realistic, but it takes up a whole 2 minutes of a 7-minute short, which contributes to the feeling that the film is really shallow. There is a lot of camera shake and random movement, which just personally annoys me. I noticed there was a Minky Momo poster on the wall, so this is clearly a personal project by someone who genuinely enjoys the medium and the magical girl genre. Everything in the production felt like a lot of effort had gone into it, especially with all the fake merch; it's a shame there just wasn't enough story to accompany it.
