With Hasan in Gaza

This is the first time I've walked out of a cinema mid-movie, but I simply cannot handle how shaky the camerawork in this film is.

Just an FYI that I'm pro-Palestine, so that this doesn't give the wrong impression, but I was on the verge of projectile vomiting the entire time. I felt like this was shot from the perspective of an egg in a boiling pot. At one point, the camera zoomed in all the way and I braced myself for a stroke.

Maybe I'll finish this film if I ever find it for rental or streaming, but in cinemas, I couldn't take any more than 30 minutes of this.

Throughout With Hasan In Gaza there are moments where kids will stand in front of the camera and ask Kamal or Hasan in a playful manner to take their picture. Also throughout most of the runtime (or the entire runtime) lies an inescapable tension tied to the actual situation happening in Gaza, the occupation and the genocide at the hands of the israeli army and their accomplices in the U.S. government. It takes moments like the ones previously mentioned, rendering a whole new layer of meaning and devastation. Something that started out as innocent, later became cries begging to not be forgotten.
There's a moment where Hasan suggests Kamal to lower his camera because a member of the army could "confuse it with a firearm". Different from a firearm, the material the MiniDV shoots at the push of a button helps immortalize those without an address.

A traves de With Hasan In Gaza hay momentos en donde niños se posicionan frente la camara y en forma de juego le piden a Hasan o Kamal que les saquen sus fotos. Igualmente por casi toda (o la entera) la duración del proyecto existe una tension inescapable ligada a la situación actual en Gaza, la ocupación y el genocidio a las manos del ejercito ocupacionista israelí y sus complices en el gobierno estadounidense. Toma momentos como el previamente mencionado, agregandole una nueva capa de significado y devastación. Algo que inicialmente es inocente, se convierte en gritos suplicando el no ser olvidados.
Existe un momento donde Hasan le sugiere a Kamal que baje su camara porque un miembro de la armada podria "confundirlo con un arma de fuego". Diferente a un arma de fuego, el material que el MiniDV dispara al presionar de un boton ayuda a inmortalizar a todos aquellos sin una dirección.
