(i say this as a jew and a ken russell defender so i'm mostly impartial)

i think the ability for this to be super silly and chaotic like a Guy Maddin film, priming the viewer for an experience like a midnight movie but then pulling the rug out from under them asking "why are you laughing?" is a really hard line to draw. it makes me think of the gorilla scene in Cabaret or the humor in The Dirties. so for that reason alone i love this short. maybe it's a misreading idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
