Watched at beverly theater that had the director shaka king talk about the movie with a q+a which was really cute and fun. I then was calling roadside assistance because i left my keys in the car so i waited like 20 minutes for that.
Anyways this movie was wonderful. The intimate shots were everything to me which hooked me immediately and i found the leading couple’s relationship feeling very genuine which gave me a good ass rush. Pretty funny movie too i thought, i had some giggle gaggles watching this throughout which made me already craving a rewatch for funsies.
Shaka King felt he kinda overdid the stoner acting thing but i was loving it, there were no cringe like i lowkey expect out of stoner roles.
I dont do weed im more of a something thats gonna tweak me up but yall stoners are cute. Its pretty complex on how its very much a movie glamorizing weed but also showing the ugly aspect, but not in a way that puts weed down. It’s really about how this couple use weed not just as a couple but as an individual. Ughhh it ate. I gotta watch judas and the black messiah.
