SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL 2026: FILM #2
I loved this.
I honestly think it’s amazing that cinema has become a lot more diverse and inclusive in recent years. I’m always happy to see a film that has a disabled main character/actor.
Liz Sargent made a great film. Anna Sargent gave such a good performance. Her performance is definitely my favorite of the festival so far.
I think this film would resonate with so many people who have and care for disabled family members. It didn’t sugarcoat anything. It shows that it’s not an easy thing to do and I appreciate how realistic that is.
I also really loved that for the scene where Anna hangs out with her neighbors, they treat her like any other person and not less. That’s something I love to see. As someone who’s in a similar boat as Anna, that’s so, so important.
I easily would’ve given this film 5 stars if it weren’t for the slightly confusing ending. It just jumped from one thing to the next without explanation. But other than that, it’s a great film.
I definitely want to revisit this film at some point!
