With the sad news of the passing of Robert Carradine, a member of the famed Carradine clan, I am viewing what may be his most famous role, that of Lewis Skolnik in Revenge of the Nerds!
Im not reviewing the first movie, because that ending is waaay too problematic (iykyk. And if you don’t know I’m not getting into it because it’s ick), so instead here is Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise.
The Tri-Lambda crew consisting of Lewis (Robert Carradine), Booger (Curtis Armstrong), Lamar (Curtis Armstrong), Poindexter (Timothy Busfield) and Wormser (Andrew Cassese) head to a frat conference in Florida, but are kicked out of their hotel because the manager hates nerds, despite hotel desk clerk cutie Courtney Thorne Smith (of Melrose Place fame) attempting to help them out.
So it is basically just nerds vs jocks again. But with a beach locale. Carradine’s signature laugh is funny schtick, but it’s hard to fully side with Team Nerd considering their down right creepy harassment of just about any woman wearing a bikini. Anthony Edwards returns for just a cameo appearance, his star on the rise after shooting Top Gun after the first Nerds
An extra half star for the Beastie style rap, James Hong adopting Booger as his squalor disciple and Ogre (Donald Gibb) having a weed inspired face turn.
