I’m not a person who’s attention could be grabbed by history. If I’m being honest, I never found an interest in it during class since I always felt forced to understand it and get a good grade. But this documentary displays information in a way where my mind follows through with everything and it doesn’t feel like a history lesson.
It was eye-opening and engaging with how they choose carry on the telling of this devastating event. The reenactment of these real people really give off the outside view of these tragedies without sounding like a textbook. And with the inclusion of real life survivors gives us that emotional punch of reality, I found myself on the verge of crying (and don’t cry that easily). The use of archival footage makes it all the more saddening and vile with the images and videos carrying shocking and disturbing views.
We can’t really be blinded by our own eyes since we don’t see or know it all. Behind the bigger picture of things reveal a more sophisticated, dark and twisted world. These people we trust with our country have the ability cause the atrocities amongst people that have no power over it.
