“I’m always interested in people who did not succeed at anything in life. So, in fact, I’m interested in everybody.”Aside from the sociopolitical commentary of the time, it does a wonderful job at capturing the essence of being, well, ordinary. There is a constant battle of this idea of mediocrity and wanting more, but being stuck in many ways. You don’t have to be be well versed in what was going on in Czechoslovakia in the 50s and 60s to find something to appreciate about this film.
