It’s a small story that’s both depressing and unsatisfying. Despite some very good performances, it’s too slow, too long, too boring and about a bunch of intersecting cultures that I’m unfamiliar with and uninvested in. Desperate Canadian parolees and Christmas Tree salesmen? Please. Could you have not found a way to make this more interesting?
I’m out here watching an Icelandic couple with infertility problems battling a manimal sheep with fascination and watching Turkish sisters battling their family for autonomy so it’s not like I’m uninterested in other cultures. They just need to be INTERESTING. 🤦🏻♀️
