Relentlessly cute — and successfully so. This is by far the longest silent I’ve taken on, so I was tentative going in, but it was just good vibes all the way through. There’s a Chaplinesque quality here, which more than anything put into perspective how good Chaplin was at what he did when compared to his contemporaries.
