Although certain sensibilities in The Paleface are antiquated, Jane Russell and Bob Hope are great together and the more cartoony gags are just plain delightful. Hope in particular swaps between endearing silliness and unearned bravado that’s hard to find as anything but hilarious by virtue of his talent as a physical comedian. The Paleface winds up just being a fun romp with some ridiculous goofy stylistic flairs.
