In regards to the opening segment: This nearly happened to me at my local conny club. I only went in for a game of snooker, came out with a tattoo on the nape of my neck. It’s the reason I exclusively wear polo necks to this day.
I’ve been meaning to get a hold of this for some time. Surreptitiously brilliant. Hauntological examinations abound. Brave enough to point out the syncretism of Christianity from ancient paganism and bold enough to reexamine the ‘barbarism’ labels placed on older religions hypocritically by latter-day faiths.
It helps if you can vibe with the austere, oftentimes turgid, presentation. The black and white photography is gorgeous yet static. Fortunately, I dig it intensely. There’s also a lot of nudity in case you get bored.
