this movie had it’s amusing side, and overall the plot and the acting is very good, especially were talking about bert lancaster. BUT
the movie is somewhat repetitive, especially the parts where they just stood around the control panels and just say shit like “o nine o” or the fuckin morse code shit

but it doesn’t take out my respect for the interpretation they were going for, but as I always do if I enjoy a film but didn’t quite get a grip on it as much, 3,5/5 is a correct answer

Run silent, run deep uses the little space it has perfectly and greatly captures the inside of the sub marine. The scenes outside the sub are surprisingly beautiful and same goes with the shots of the sub in the water. The characters are written well especially the 2 leads. Hearing mr potato head say my last name was great, I wish don rickles did more roles with bigger parts as he is brilliant.

Fairly standard war movie with a fairly standard concept of clash between officers. But there is still a good amount of moments of tension built in to keep the audience focused, and while I was hoping for more from Lancaster, Gable has a great performance along a good group of side characters that do enough to get them to care for the crew and hope they make it out alive.
